"I watched a long video. I was told that there is a relationship between the foil component geometry and what to expect, but I couldn't understand why. All I know now is that if I buy a high AR wing with a "moustache" shape, depending on how much the AR is, and how the "moustache" looks, I will be able to do the stuff I want to do. Of course, if that doesn't happen, I can always buy other wings with different ARs and different "moustache" shapes, and see what happens"
S-MF FLOW is Optimo’s proposed answer for active freeride foilers who are currently prioritizing more maneuverability, agility, and control for fun and skill development.
We designed the foil primarily for WING, KITE, SAIL, and PARAWING propulsion. While this design may not be optimal for other propulsion sources, we will test it to explore suitability.
To keep the price reasonable, the initial mast and fuselage versions will be made of aluminum. Future versions will offer carbon components for a lighter freeride experience.
S-MF FLOW's structural and hydrodynamic design is not intended for racing, freestyle, pumping, or jumping, and it may not be optimal for SUP, wake, prone foiling, or downwind gliding.

This project was born at the intersection of my experience and the foiler’s experience. In discussions with members of the FDG/FEG, I recognized a familiar pattern from a similar project in the cycling world. Most brands’ narratives connect the riding experience to specific product features. While there may be some cause-and-effect relationships, in Physics, many factors interact with each other.

Long before surfing foils, a national windsurfing Champion asked me for a faster racing centerboard. That late-’80s project also gave me foundational engineering and business lessons that now shape Optimo Foils.
